This robust, high-bandwidth JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) storage system with 16 hot-swappable drive bays provides up to 32 TB of raw storage capacity in a single JBOD appliance. The StorTrends 3201j is designed to be plugged in behind a StorTrends 2401i, 3200i or 3200n head unit powered by StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software for simple capacity expansion, allowing the user to “buy as you grow” as storage capacity requirements increase in the future. The two external SAS ports provide the connectivity and bandwidth for large capacity solutions requiring multiple cascaded JBODs. Since StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software features support for up to 256 TB of storage, it provides the tremendous capacity expansion needed to allow today's organizations to keep several steps ahead of exploding data growth. The StorTrends 3201j features support for both SAS and SATA hard drives, giving users multiple options to combine shelves of disks for a wide range of additional storage needs. Users who expand their capacity with a StorTrends 3201j can take advantage of the Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) module featured in the StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software. The ILM module provides the capability to migrate data from front line SAN and NAS storage to less expensive JBOD storage based on the data’s usage and aging history. To ensure data availability and system reliability, the StorTrends 3201j includes fully redundant, hot-swappable I/O, power and cooling modules, all of which are field-replaceable. Key system components are constantly monitored to ensure continuous operation in case of disk failure or an I/O module, power supply or cooling unit malfunction and can be viewed at a glance through the ManageTrends™ Health Monitoring window in StorTrends iTX.
